My Drawings

Post by Cerberus on Thu 16 Oct - 14:42:47

I love to draw. In the last 12 years I have practised a lot. Most of the time I had to "study" on my own, since the last two years I found a forum where I got critics and help. I am getting better drawing by drawing.

My Avatar is one of my drawings. If you like you can visit my page. It would make me happy. :D

Yes, only pencils.
I use graphite and carbon pencils and for the eyes colored pencils. (Carbon pencils are made of graphite and charcoal.)

And when it is finished, do have any kind of fixation to put on it?
You don't want it wiped out by dirty fingers Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad !!
And how long does it take you to do a portrait like this, or the one from Jamie?
I'm impressed!

Dear Cerberus,

I am delighted. You are so talented. I must say .. drawing portraits of people I´ve never succeeded in. I like painting .. but abstract. And I even did sculpting but never faces or person.

WOW! And your work in progress .. I do like very much !

And all the questions Scheepskat had regarding finishing I do have, too!

Looking forward to your answers .. and next pictures. I am afraid but I won´t share your FB page because I don´t have one. Otherwise I would do ..

I am impressed too, and the hint of colour in the eyes is genius, brings the mystic to the drawings.
love them.

@anj Thank you very much. :D

I will try to explain the technical stuff in English. Hope you can understand otherwise just ask.  jocolor

@Scheepskat, thank you very much. I use a soft fixative after I finished it. It protects the drawing from yellowing through light and for smudging. But you shouldn´t touch it hard... nevertheless your fingers will become dirty, but not as much as without a fixative. Many artists are using hairspray but it is not as good as a fixative.
I need for a drawing like the one from Sam about 20 to 25 hours. It depends how detailed the foto is. If you take a look at my drawing albums at my Facebookpage there is a drawing of Lucian or the Eye of Smaug... for drawings like these I need much more time. These two needed over 50 hours to finish.

@SoniaG, thank you very much. Don´t worry. flower I am happy if people share my page but it is not a duty Wink I love any art. flower Art is wonderful. Drawing portraits is not as difficult as most of the people think. I use a grid and I have my reference foto. The rest is only practise and I still need practise. I started a while ago doing portraits with coloured pencils. Skin tones are tricky to mix with coloured pencils. The first one was... well... laughing

@Admin1, thank you very much. :D sunny

@castlerock, thanks a lot. :D

Thank you all very much.

I think it is mostly practise. I´v drawn for long years. And it is so important to practise as much as you can. You also need others around you who really critize you and don´t praise you all the time.

I have to show you something. My best friend is at the HobbitCon this weekend and look what she did.

surprised  surprised  surprised  surprised  surprised

She took my drawing with her for an autograph... but the autograph session is tomorrow.
