Dear Astrid - thank you for posting these further articles in reference to the casting of Bree & Roger.  Personally I thought Karen Gillan was a good choice for Brianna, right from the first "hint" of actresses lined up to play her.  And I thought she was great in Dr Who.

Had to Google the two guys mentioned in the article (Richard Madden/Joshua Sasse), & based on appearances, as I haven't seen their acting talents, I would choose Joshua Sasse.  But that's just me, & he is rather handsome! Wink

As other members have mentioned Sam & Cait were unknown actors chosen for the leads.  And so Starz do seem keen to go down this route, which of course would help when it come's to budgets.
But could they pick a more well known actor for one of these roles?  As Sheila mentioned, it could introduce "their" own fanbase to Outlander, & rocket audience figures yet again?  Guess we'll just have to watch this space, & let's hope an announcement is made, sooner rather than later - Patience & Outlander are not a good combination - HE-HE!!
lol!

"My" imagination of Roger looks rather like Noah Wyle from ER, especially the pics where he´s bearded (Roger at the Mohawk village). He´s way too old to play Roger, I know.

It's funny how we get an imagine in our head about a character, isn't it? Smile

What a great choice, I could also have seen Maggie Smith (Dowager Downton Abbey)

welcomeback Sonia!  Hope you plan to stay for a while!

Great news about the casting for Mother Hildegard - she certainly looks the part although I admit I've never watched a Harry Potter movie so can't comment on her acting ability.

Gilt paint and ruffles Sonia......couldn't be more French Court than that could it?

I agree Lorraine - Maggie Smith would be a wonderful choice as well but wonder if the makeup artists could have made her look twenty years younger than she appears in Voyager! Well, yes, I guess they could. Smile

Oui aussi les filles!

Not as good as your accent Norma! HaHa!!

I can very much visualise this actor as King Louis XV. And the opulence of the French Court. Canna wait to see Jamie & Claire's arrival at the palace. Just a wee tip though for all those French Male Courtiers - "Keep yer hands of Mrs Fraser"! Unless yer want to end up half drowned in some ornate garden fountain..........just sayin Les Hommes! Wink

My Dear Debbie,

Oh yes Debbie, I GET IT and I'm NOT running away!

Based on our on-line banter on this forum......I shudder to think what the convo might be if we spoke in person, in real time - your personality is so much like mine that I think we'd be rolling on the floor laughing our heads off - but wait - everyone else IS running away, they think we're NUTS......we're not really.....well, not REALLY surprised

Bahahaha...................!!!laughing

It is very much a dear wish of mine, to one day meet you in person Norma! Though I would seriously need to limber up those pelvic muscles. You make me LOL here on the forum, so having a convo in real time, with all the laughter I just know would flow between us. Well, one could have a wee accident - literally!
laughing
Aye dear, least it would make a change from a puddle of drool I suppose. Do they charge extra on flights, if your carrying a mop & bucket in yer luggage?
lol!

Tis a comfort though lass, knowing my "NUTTY" behavior is shared & understood! Wink
