Any Scottish Genealogy Folks out there?

Post by DianaMac on Thu 7 May - 22:34:25

My husband claims his surname is Scottish, but I have not found any information online that leads me to believe that is true. I did find McLamore in Ireland. Has anyone on the forum done any Scottish ancestral geneaology research? If so, do you know of a good place to start online?

Scotlands People is generally accepted as the best place for Scottish research.   I've not done any myself but I think there is more information on Scottish birth certs etc than on English ones. There are quite a lot of McLamore Scottish names on Ancestry. Let me know if I can research any for you, but I could only find those that were born in Scotland but living in England, 1911 and earlier.

Good luck!
